GeoMeta Pro GPS & EXIF Toolkit

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how GeoMeta Pro processes information when you use the website at geometa-pro.web.app. GeoMeta Pro is a browser-based GPS and EXIF metadata utility. The core design principle is that your image files are processed locally in your browser and are not sent to any GeoMeta Pro server for analysis.

Please read this policy carefully before using the tool, especially if you are working with images that contain sensitive location data or personally identifiable information.

1. Image file processing

When you select or drag image files into GeoMeta Pro, all metadata reading and processing happens inside your browser using JavaScript. Your image files are loaded into browser memory from your device's local storage. They are not uploaded to, transmitted to, or stored on any GeoMeta Pro server.

The parsed metadata — EXIF fields including GPS coordinates, timestamps, camera details, and any other detected information — exists in your active browser session. It is discarded when you close the tab or navigate away. GeoMeta Pro does not store, log, or retain metadata from your images.

Exported files (CSV, KML, GeoJSON, PDF, and scrubbed images) are generated in your browser and saved to your device by your browser's download mechanism. GeoMeta Pro does not have access to these downloaded files after they leave your browser.

2. GPS coordinates and address lookup

GPS latitude and longitude values extracted from your images are processed and displayed locally. If you choose to use the optional address resolution feature — which converts GPS coordinates into a human-readable address — the relevant coordinates will be sent to a third-party geocoding service (such as OpenStreetMap Nominatim) as part of that request. This transmission occurs only when you explicitly request an address lookup; it does not happen automatically.

Do not use the address resolution feature for GPS coordinates that belong to confidential, sensitive, or legally protected locations if sending those coordinates to a third-party service is not acceptable for your workflow.

3. Advertising — Google AdSense

GeoMeta Pro uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may use cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies to serve personalised advertisements based on your browsing history and interests. The publisher ID authorised to serve ads on this site is ca-pub-7636958266642396, as documented in the ads.txt file.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on prior visits to this site or other sites on the internet. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or by visiting aboutads.info. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor's use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info/choices.

For more information on how Google uses data when you visit sites that use Google services, see Google's Privacy & Terms.

4. Cookies

GeoMeta Pro itself uses localStorage to remember your theme preference (dark or light mode) between sessions. This is a browser storage mechanism, not a tracking cookie, and contains no personally identifiable information.

Google AdSense and the mapping libraries used by GeoMeta Pro (such as Leaflet with OpenStreetMap tiles) may set their own cookies. These cookies are governed by the respective third parties' privacy policies.

5. Third-party services and libraries

GeoMeta Pro uses the following third-party services and open-source libraries, each of which may have their own data handling practices:

6. Children's privacy

GeoMeta Pro is not directed at children under the age of 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this site, please contact us using the details below.

7. Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when GeoMeta Pro changes its features, services, or applicable legal requirements. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of GeoMeta Pro after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
